Mill Co writer Rachel Newsome hosted her story telling event, Don’t Tell Stories last Monday with music from Andrew Weatherall.

“we tell stories in order to live” Joan Didion… As children, we loved being told stories. Words and images flew into our minds, as we were taken to new shores, near and far. Then we grew up and the story telling stopped. Until… Whether amongst the ancient firs at Latitude or in a candle lit tent past midnight at Port Eliot Festival or a wood-pannelled Victorian chapel in Bethnal Green, Don’t Tell Stories weaves tales of magic & moonlight, death & dancing for your delight… Imagination is set free and words take on a life of their own, as people draw while they listen in collaboration with art community RART… Don’t Tell Stories was founded by writer and former Dazed & Confused Editor Rachel Newsome in Summer 2009 and is art directed by production designer Maitland Mason… “We all sat on cushions inside an old bell tent and drew by candle light while listening to an enchanting story about a wild night out.
